Come for a walk
through the mind of Kami Goertz, a place where flowers
are lazy, rocks teach history lessons, and mushrooms and cacti proliferate.
Working with vintage, reclaimed and high quality materials, Kami stitches together her passion for ecology, mycology, fibre and food in her plush characters.
Embracing the fact at that you are never too old to keep a stuffed animal in your room, Kami pours her heart into her soft action figures and sends them off into the world to colonize the homes of eager collectors who give them a life of their own.
After attending the Pictoplasma Master class for Character Design in Berlin 2016, with support through the Manitoba Craft Council, the Winnipeg Arts Council and the Manitoba Arts Council, Kami has been on a quest to bring to life her vision of a forest floor of faces that teach us about their unique roles in our environment and make us all feel a little more connected.
Kami’s work can be found also locally at the WAG gift shop, and Tara Davis Studio Boutique.
